Journal agreements renewed |
As of 2016, we have entered into a new agreement with Elsevier extending online access to some 1.700 journals on ScienceDirect.
In addition, the costs of publishing articles as Open Access in 350 journals have been settled for authors affiliated with Dutch universities and UMCs.
As such, while the journals themselves are not pure Open Access, the Dutch articles published within are. Use the 'Read more' option for news about Wiley and Oxford University Press. |

Phasing out of Reference Manager - transition to Endnote |
In March the Walaeus Library will be offering walk-in sessions, during which demonstrations will be given on how to convert between Reference Manager and EndNote.
The company responsible for Reference Manager has taken this product off the market as of 2016. Since Reference Manager is a standalone program, you can continue using this software. But please keep in mind that with every new Windows upgrade, the software’s compatibility with Windows will be reduced further.
The same company that produced Reference Manager offers an alternative, up-to-date program: EndNote. It is very simple to switch from Reference Manager to EndNote, as well as to convert text content with citations. |

Research methodology series |
|
|
A series of articles entitled ‘Methodologie van onderzoek’ (‘Methodology of Research’) published in Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Geneeskunde (NTvG) have been collected and presented within an app named ‘Kaf en koren’ (‘Chaff and Wheat’). The articles are also separately available via this overview. You can also go to watch brief 70-second clips that sum up the key points of various specialist terms and phrases – ‘confounding ’, for example. |
